In our country we have a major problem which is poverty. The major part of population living poverty. The main reason of poverty is lack of education. The developing of education is very much connected and effective with major part of Bangladesh, such as – agriculture, health care, job creation, economic. If people get proper education time to time they easily develop all those sectors. Now-a-days the digital culture changing and developing these sectors very much. The internet makes it easy. Though digital culture is developing our country but still our country is less develops than other developed and developing country. The education sector is now more improved than past for the internet. But still not enough improved as needed. There are some NGO in our countries who are trying to develop the ICT (Information Communication Technology). They are working with a foreign country as partnership. BRACnet is one of them. Their partner is DEFTA (USA). As we know there are some big problems only capital of the country and some major districts are developing. But rest of the rural and small town area is not developing as much those districts developed. About 80 percent of population lives in rural and small town areas. It is not right only developing the 20 percent of population areas. Government must develop total country. Because of developing only major districts so most of rural people coming more and more in developed area and creating over population. The economical balance is also misbalancing for this kind of problems. Now-a-days communication system became ICT is developing. All the head of every sectors staying is Dhaka. There should be sub head office in every district which will be totally connected with main head office. If any kind of information to communicate they can communicate that information by online or internet service. By the internet we are connected with entire world. Whatever you want you can find it internet. We can make a better training session for a particular job by the internet. Digital culture is changing massive way in town areas and changing the social culture. Those who are living in develop areas and negative way. The government is not taking properly the advantage of digital age. The government spending money at very unnecessary sectors, such as – recently government spend a lot of money to change the name of airport which is totally unnecessary spends. Government is spending that sectors but on the other hand our country many people living in hunger. So how digital age will be very useful to develop our country that will discussed separately.
Let’s take the education part. Government should not spend money for the distributing the board text. They can reduce the cost of transportation. Government should make e-book system and send all the copy to all education board of Bangladesh. They will print the book and distribute by themselves. It will be more cost efficiency and time efficiency. Government should provide multimedia in every school and college. By the multimedia education student think more visualize and more capability of thinking. Because of the internet doing this kind of devolvement is becoming very easy now. They are should be good training session for the teachers and schools how multimedia more helpful for them. Recently we got a problem the well reputed government school and college’s teachers are not teaching well in the class room. The teachers are trying to influence the students to take private tuition. This kind of thing is illegal and full of corruption. By the digital age government can set CC camera with audio in every class room. Government also should set monitors for monitoring the CC cameras. Data recording become very easy for the internet and digital age. Government should make an online library for the students and teachers. Students and teachers can get any kinds of e-book from online library. It will be a big contribution for developing the education sectors.
Agriculture is a very important part of our country. Bangladesh has comparative advantage in agriculture sector. The agriculture plays a great role in Bangladesh economy. The farmers of our country are not perfect to cultivate or produce more crops and foods. They do not have enough idea about weathers. They do not have any idea about organic farming, scientific methods, safety of crops etc. They are skill worker but they do not have appropriate information to do something better. In the digital age to get them all the information is became very easy. The BARI (Bangladesh Agriculture Research Institute) always keeps of agriculture. The information of research not reaching to the farmer as needed. Government should install office for agriculture developing at all the districts and sub districts. Government should make a training center to train perfect agriculture technique to the farmers. All the agricultural developing office will be connected with BARI. Whatever and whenever BARI researched the institution will must update to all agriculture developing office. Because of having internet they can communicates video, audio, pictures and many other tools. Internet can reduce cost of communication and reduce also time consuming. The sub agricultural developing office will get update in very short time for the internet.
Safety is a very important need for every human being. Our country is not yet safe as needed. Our transportation system is not secure. We have a traffic rules but most of the people do not obey. Government makes a strict traffic rules and highway rules. Digital age can keep a big contribution to develop the safety sector. Government should install a fast vehicle tracking device in all over the country. The device must be very fast and connected with internet to track a vehicle immediately. The government should set CCD (Close Circuit Digital) camera in every signals and roads. If anyone try to break the rules the criminal will got by the cameras easily. Traffic video footage can be playing a big role to investigate any kinds of crime. Every signal border should be a lesser border if anyone tries to cross the line before time immediately the police sergeant and local police station will get notification. The government can open online website for traffic update. The website should be update in every 10 minutes. It can be possible by the GPS (Global Positioning System) system. All the industry should be fire protected Government should make a fire protected device and government should make a law install that device is mandatory for every industry. All fire protected device should be connected with local fire bridged by the internet. If any industry gets any kinds of fire problem the local fire bridged will get update with all detail. The fast 3G internet can keep an important contribution in every sector. By the fast internet service people can get first aid advice from the internet and they can also see video tips by their smart phone other device. As only government’s telecommunication company (Teletalk) has 3G connection so that they should develop the network to serve people as well as possible.
Unemployment is a very well known problem in our country. At the last writing I have mention how digital age can be developed in different sectors. So if government decided to develop those sectors as I said they can make many job opportunities. The digital age is directly and indirectly creating job opportunity.
Our social culture is changing for the impact of digital age. Now people are adopting many foreign cultures which are not go with our religion culture. People are creating social violence because culture is changing day by day. The social network can be very helpful for communication but also dangerous for the society, such as – recently youtube.com is banding our country because there were some religion conflicts. There were many kinds of violence in Muslim countries because the video made a fun of Islam. We must understand that at the age of new media anyone can do this kind of upload. But no one cannot change our or others religion books. We should not concentrate on that kind of upload. We must protest then against them but should not create violence. In the digital age there are also negative effects but it is depend in us how we use this. The internet is a great power ‘The great power comes with great responsibility’-(Spider-Man Film 2002) this dialogue of Spiderman movie but it is a big true. If we have the power we should also responsibility and respectful for the power.
Let’s get back the poverty I have discussed about many major factors of Bangladesh. All those factors are very closely related with poverty. I have mentioned how digital age can be very useful for those sectors. If the government start developing those sectors as I wrote before. After a long time we can see very level of poverty in our country. Our government should be more concentrate to those sectors not to concentrate in political conflicts.
